Special Events

There are a number of Special Events that are held at MUF on a regular basis. Some of them happen once a year, some of them every few months, yet others are one-time only. They offer a range of opportunities for personal enrichment, good fellowship and just plain fun. We invite you to join us for any one that strikes your fancy.

Note that some of the information below is from the previous incarnation of that event. Specifics on the next one will be posted as soon as available.

Social Justice Film Series - This series is jointly sponsored by the Seeds of Peace Committee, Green Sanctuary Committee and the Social Responsibilities Committee as part of our mission to work for social justice and the well-being of our planet earth. The films and discussions are guaranteed to be informative, thought-provoking and multi-faceted.

Service Auction - The 2006 Service Auction took place on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005, at 6:30 p.m. with many services available in the Silent Auction on the following three Sundays. Click on the link for more information.

Black Maria Film & Video Festival - The 2005 Festival was held on Sat., March 12, 8 p.m. as a Fellowship fundraiser. Contact Dan Byrd for information on the 2006 Festival at Danielbyrdman@aol.com.

Saturday Evening Concert Series- For 25 years this series has offered a variety of fine performers the chance to perform in our beautiful home. There are four concerts each year, featuring a diversity of musical styles. The 2005-2006 series--our 25th annual--is described here.

SCAN Coffee House Benefit Concert - SCAN (Service Committee Action Network) holds this concert every January to raise money for such charitable organizations as the UU Service Committee and Peace Works. A great evening of music, fun and food, all going to good causes. The 20th Annual SCAN Coffeehouse concert will be held on Saturday, January 28 at 8 p.m., proceeds to benefit humanitarian efforts in Central American countries. Morristown Women's Festival - The 16th Annual Morristown Women's Festival was held on Saturday, May 13, 2006. This year's theme was Real Women, Real Bodies, Real Lives: Celebrating Our Whole Selves. To volunteer in planning future festivals, send email to WomensFestival@muuf.org.

One World Coffee House - "The Concert With A Heart." The Coffee House brings an eclectic mix of World Music to the MUF stage, with the proceeds going to a worthy local charity.

Craft Show- Farewell to our Craft Show! For 39 consecutive years, our annual Craft Show showcased the work of hundreds of artists. The 2004 Show was held in early December, and was our last.
