“In a religious community we minister to each other in many different ways, at many different levels. The act of ministering is often seen as a prerogative of the minister, but in reality, it is a joint responsibility of the entire congregation and of the larger UU community.”
    -The Reverend Wilfred Ward

    Mission Statement

The Caring Committee’s mission for the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship is to assist Members and Friends with tasks and services with which they are temporarily unable to cope. They are to:

◊Gather information concerning the needs of Members and Friends through our Minister, staff, and others. And, to encourage Members and Friends to inform the Caring Committee of their needs.

◊Liaison with other Fellowship committees in locating those with who we can be of help, as well as keep those committees informed of our services.

◊Acknowledge and encourage caregivers, and offer assistance, if help is needed, during their time of service to a Member or Friend.

◊Keep in touch with Members and Friends after service has been rendered to determine future needs.

◊Recognize and acknowledge the joys and concerns shared by our Members and Friends.

◊Respect the privacy of every person needing assistance, which we offer without judgment.

    Vial of Life Program

The Caring Committee is celebrating its third year of participation in the Vial of Life ProgramThe Vial of Life Program created by the EMS raises the level of awareness during a medical emergency.  The Caring Committee encourages all members and friends on medication that would be important for first responders to be aware of to  pick up their decals and forms from the Caring Table and follow the instructions for inserting the completed form into the pill bottle and attaching it to a shelf within their refrigerator.  Confusion during a medical emergency reigns, therefore, EMS routinely check the occupants refrigerator for the magnetized decal indicating that medical information is inside.  Members and Friends of the Fellowship are encouraged to register with their local police or fire departments on their secure computers.
