The Beautification and Preservation
Committee focuses on efforts to move MUF forward by beautifying and
preserving our building and grounds, except for the Memorial Garden.
We also review/authorize all requests to change painting, decoration and aesthetics, including all exterior signs.
We do not have responsibility or authority
for ongoing maintenance and repair issues; those are handled by the
Administrator and the temporary Building and Grounds Committee.
Each year we usually conduct, one large
project, several small projects, and at least two cleanup days (in
November and April). For example:
- 2007: installed a new stone patio outside of the East door of the Meeting Room;
- 2008: restored the wall by the main entrance gate;
- 2009: purchased and installed a new signpost along Columbia Turnpike;
- 2010: preserved the eastern entrance drainage wall; and
- 2011: plan to re-landscape the entrance walkway and replace the main entrance sign
We also issue an annual ‘State of The Estate’ report on the condition of the building and grounds to MUF’s Board of Trustees.
