Gift Suggestions and Registry Information
Gift Suggestions
Although our main purpose is to celebrate Alison & David’s wedding, we’d also like to “shower” them with gifts as they embark on their life together. Please know that your presence at the Celebration is present enough and that you are not expected to give a gift!
If you do wish to give a gift, however, here are some suggestions and information about each option. If you have questions, please feel free to contact Carol Todd at catodd@verizon.net or (908) 766-4840.
- Contribute treasured recipes, your keys for a happy life together, anecdotes, poems, pictures, etc., to “Recipes for a Happy Life”, a scrapbook that will be created by a team of MUF artists. Please send your submissions to Tina Demottie by email (demottie@verizon.net) or leave them in the “Recipes” box on top of the MUF mailboxes by the office. You can also reach Tina by phone at (973) 560-9719. The deadline for submissions is October 5.
- Give them a traditional shower gift. Alison & David have registered their gift wish lists at the following stores if you’re looking for an idea. Click on the store name below to link to the various registries.

- A “House Fund” has been established for those who want to contribute to a cash gift. Alison and David are hoping to become homeowners in the near future, and any money they receive will go towards reaching this goal.
Make checks payable to MUF with “Wedding Gift Fund” on the memo line and send to MUF. Your gift will be added to the fund and given to Alison and David at the Celebration.
Contribute to one of two Charitable Gift Funds in Honor of Alison and David’s wedding. They have selected two non-profit organizations: the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee and the Edmund Niles Huyck Preserve. You can visit the websites of these organizations by clicking on the links below.Please make your check payable to the specific agency and send it to MUF. This will allow us to collect the individual gifts into one contribution to each organization from MUF members and friends and present it to Alison and David at the Celebration. See specific instructions below.
The Edmund Niles Huyck Preserve
Their mission is to protect the natural beauty of the Rensselaerville Falls , the watershed of Lake Myosotis and surrounding lands, to conduct long-term research on natural systems as a part of a global effort to understand and preserve the Earth’s biodiversity, and to increase appreciation of this effort through innovative, field-based educational programs for students, teachers and the community. Please, write your check payable to the “E.N. Huyck Preserve” and attach a note that gives your contact information and states the donation is “in honor of Alison Miller and David Snedden’s wedding.” Then send it to MUF, Attn: Wedding Gift.
The Unitarian Universalist Service Committee
The Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC) is a nonsectarian organization that advances human rights and social justice in the United States and around the world. Their four areas of focus are: Civil Liberties, Economic Justice, Environmental Justice, and Rights in Humanitarian Crises. You can read more about their mission and programs at their website. Write your check payable to the “UUSC” and attach a note with your contact information and that states that the donation is “in honor of Alison Miller and David Snedden’s wedding.” Send to MUF, Attn: Wedding Gift.
