Submit Article for Weekly Newsletter

Here are some tips on writing for the newsletter

 

Submissions are due for that weeks newsletter by Wednesday at 9 am.

News Article Submission

Fill out this form to submit information for publication on our website, in our Newsletter, and in other forms of publicity.

If this is an event, please fill out an event submission form.

Our weekly Newsletter is emailed at 10am Thursday.

Articles must be submitted using this form before 5pm Wednesday each week in order to be included in the weekly Newsletter.

The weekly Newsletter contains articles posted between the previous Friday up to Thursday; your posts can go live earlier in the week before Thursday and still be included in the Newsletter.

Posts will be lightly edited for formatting, although staff also reserve the right to modify post contents if deemed necessary for privacy or kindness reasons.

Date you'd like your article to go live

This is the description of your post that gets shown on the news index page and is the only text shown in the newsletter. Summaries should involve a 'hook', a call to action, but not provide key details. They should not repeat the exact contents of your post. Your post should always be much longer than the summary.


Example:

This week, we wanted to focus on all of the wonderful upcoming events taking place at the Fellowship! Read on to be sure that you don't miss out.

If you're attaching images, include some note for where those images should be embedded inline. For instance:

"[Image 1, picture of pumpkin]"


If you need to link to another page or website, include the URL in parenthesis. For instance:

"Please visit our Events page (https://www.muuf.org/events) for more info."


Files should never be linked; upload them as an attachment and put a note where they should be included.

If you would like to upload a document containing your formatted post text instead of plaintext, you are welcome to do so. This will allow you to manually italicize, bold, and otherwise format your text. Posts will still be edited as appropriate.
