Dance Rehearsal with Rev. Sasha

On Sunday, August 30, Morristown UU will feature a dance-centered worship service, and dancers of all ages and experience levels are welcome to help Rev. Sasha plan the service and, for course, participate in it! 

Rehearsals are every Saturday from July 4 through August 29 from 11 AM to 12 PM. RSVP is not required but is encouraged to help Rev. Sasha plan ahead. Please also fill out THIS FORM to let Rev. Sasha know a little about you/your dancer and how you'd like to participate in the service.

With the exception of our mandatory August 29th final rehearsal, our weekly rehearsals are optional. You are encouraged to attend as many rehearsals as allows you to feel comfortable performing on the 29th. It's also a good way to get in a little exercise and hang out with some Morristown UU friends!

During our first week, we practiced a familiar group performance, familiarized ourselves with the basic steps of an Irish ceili dance, and played around with ways to work off-ice figure skating and taekwondo into a dance.

This second week, we will continue working on the above to grow in comfort and familiarity and, if there is interest, work a little on designing the service together.

Pending dancer availability, the service will feature a group dance suitable for all ages and levels choreographed by Rev. Sasha as well as solos and small ensembles choreographed and performed by members.

Whether you are an experienced dancer or have never danced before but would like to give it a try, you are welcome! Dancers of all ages are welcome. Dancers under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. (You are not required to dance - though that would be fun!)
