Prioritizing clean energy for New Jersey

Did you know that it now costs less to produce electricity from solar or wind energy than by burning fossil fuels? With battery storage, electricity generated by solar panels or wind turbines can be available anytime. Electricity generated from solar and wind has the added benefits of relatively stable costs compared with fossil fuels and no climate-altering emissions.

During social hour after the Earth Day service on April 19, members of the Green Earth Ministry invited the congregation to add their names to a letter to Governor Mikie Sherrill. The letter thanked the Governor for her actions to reduce New Jersey’s electricity rates, advance solar energy and battery storage, accelerate permitting for clean energy infrastructure, and expand power generation. Linda DeLap emailed a photo of the letter and the 62 added names to Gov. Sherrill’s office on April 20.
