UU Ministry for Earth 2026-2027 Community Read: "Radically Reframing Climate Change"

On fourth Mondays of the month, the UU Ministry for Earth will facilitate online gatherings to discuss its 2026-2027 Community Read, Radically Reframing Climate Change: A Guide to Saving Ourselves by Will Hackman. The first meeting will take place this Monday, Sept. 28, at 7:45 pm. There’s still time to sign up at uumfe.org.

The first 15 minutes of every gathering will be Community Time for gathering to sing songs of climate resilience/resistance before transitioning to the Community Read discussion.

The book’s author, Will Hackman, argues that the failure to take action against climate change isn’t scientific or fact-based, but rather, political, emotional, and ideological. He identifies three leading barriers to solving climate change: polarization, paralysis, and inadequate messaging. Framing the climate crisis as a humanity crisis, Hackman encourages readers to convert their anxiety and anger into action.
