Teamwork really is Dreamwork!

Thank you, Jeanne Craft, for our caption: Teamwork really is Dreamwork, and thank you to the 14 or more volunteers who spent Saturday morning working to clean and maintain our Fellowship home. In case you weren’t counting, in one morning that is over 40 hours of work! That equivalent of a full week of work for one person can – and did - accomplish an incredible array of good things, and saved the Fellowship some significant money for work that might otherwise have required hiring contractors.

Paul Snellgrove kicked the day off right with coffee and doughnuts, and after all the work, everyone enjoyed pizza and homemade soup & salad on Courtyard, thanks to Dori Wolfe and Diana Hart.

And, what was the good work? Well, reinstallation of storm doors (with a new plexiglass insert) for the Family Room (f/k/a the Dinning Room) thanks to Paul Snellgrove, Craig Adams, and Dori Wolfe and the closing of storm windows throughout the mansion. Or taping up the loose insulation around all the basement heating ducts thanks to Tim Davis and Shubert Jacques, who then moved some really heavy bookshelves and file cabinets into our locked records storage room on the third floor. Or some needed tree work with his chain saw by Kerry, assisted by Diana Hart. Then there was repairing a broken fencing section by the entrance to the west parking lot with Gary Gu and Steve Parker working as a team. Our thanks to Steve Runyon for moving dead branches to brush piles, to Jeanne Craft and her grandchildren for some interior cleaning. Also seen helping, Nan Perigo cleaning and touching up paint in the Terrace Room. Barry Bontempo and Craig Adams assisted on miscellaneous projects. And present in spirit longtime volunteers Steve Rice and Joe Hart (who recently completed another of his signature ramps, this one to help move things in and out of the basement covered walkway entrance without getting hung up on the door sill). Of course, Linda Delap weeded planting beds around the Gateways Center

The Facilities Committee holds volunteer work days twice a year, spring and fall. Join us and experience Dreamwork firsthand during our next date April 17, 2027.
