Open Questions for this year start next week!

Open Questions are back this year – mark your calendars for the first Open Question Sunday on October 11th. Our focus will be “Honoring the Past: How do we decide what to keep and what to let go?” Reverend Sasha will guide us through reflection on this topic during the service, with small groups hosted by the Committee on Ministries (COM) gathering in Chu Family Hall after the service for an extended discussion at 11:30am.
Child care will be provided, and kids can opt to discuss the topic in their own small group or watch a movie (Inside Out, which explores these topics as well). Young adults and tweens are welcome to join the adults or form their own small group for discussion of this topic. We invite everyone who wants to participate in this discussion to find a group.
There will also be a Zoom session at 7:30pm on Monday, October 12th for those who can’t attend on the 11th. Please plan to attend one session or the other (you don't need to attend both, as that will skew results). Contact Board@MUUF.org for a link to the Zoom session.
The post-service sessions offer an opportunity to share your thoughts and have deeper dialogue with fellow congregants, both old and new. Your responses will help our Board increase their understanding of what’s important to the Congregation, guide upcoming discussion topics, and help them determine next year’s Vision of Ministry. Participants give these sessions a big “thumbs-up,” and we hope you’ll join us.
Last year’s responses to our three open questions sessions were summarized and used to guide this year’s Vision of Ministry, which the Board and Staff are working to implement for this year. See Rev. Sasha’s request for suggestions and Board Secretary Caroline Blanchard’s article on our Vision of Ministry for this year.
