As young people navigate growing up today, they face big questions about who they are, how they fit in, and how to build healthy relationships. They deserve a sexuality education program that respects their experiences and helps them explore their values, feelings, and identity with confidence. Rather than just focusing on rules or risks, a strong program models caring, respect, and justice, helping youth understand both themselves and the world around them in a positive, supportive way.
As young people navigate growing up today, they face big questions about who they are, how they fit in, and how to build healthy relationships. They deserve a sexuality education program that respects their experiences and helps them explore their values, feelings, and identity with confidence.
Our Whole Lives (OWL) provides exactly that—a holistic, age-appropriate curriculum that moves beyond basic biology to address the real feelings, attitudes, and experiences youth bring to their daily lives. Rather than focusing solely on risks or rules, OWL takes a positive approach that equips participants with the skills to make healthy decisions, embrace their bodies, and foster loving, equitable relationships. Above all, the program is designed to honor human diversity, ensuring every youth feels seen, respected, and supported regardless of their sex, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, or disability status.
Fall Retreat: Gender & Sexual Identity
Mark your calendars for our first day retreat on Saturday, December 5th, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM (lunch provided!). This extended workshop gives youth the time and space to dive deeper into the core concepts of gender, gender expression, and sexual identity in a supportive, interactive environment. The retreat flows directly into our class on Sunday, December 6th, which features a guest panel where youth can hear real-world perspectives and ask questions in an open, inclusive setting.
Spring Retreat & End-of-Year Celebration
We will wrap up our Our Whole Lives journey with our final day retreat on Saturday, May 15th, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM (lunch provided!). This full-day session allows us to complete our final curriculum modules, review the meaningful skills and insights gained throughout the year, and reflect on personal growth. Beyond the coursework, this retreat serves as an end-of-year celebration—a dedicated time for youth to honor the trusting community they’ve built together, celebrate their accomplishments, and mark the completion of this transformative program.
Mandatory Parent/Caregiver Orientation
Before classes begin on September 20th, we will hold a mandatory in-person Parent & Caregiver Orientation during the week prior to our first session. Attendance by at least one parent or guardian is required, as this orientation provides essential insight into the Our Whole Lives curriculum, values, and classroom expectations, while giving you the opportunity to review program materials, ask questions, and meet the facilitators. The exact date and time for this meeting are currently TBD based on family feedback—please let us know your preferred timeframe (such as Sunday, Sept 13 at noon/evening, a weeknight, or Saturday, Sept 19) when registering your youth so we can accommodate as many schedules as possible.
