Sexuality education is a lifelong journey that begins at birth. For many five- to seven-year-olds, Our Whole Lives (OWL) for Grades K–1 serves as their very first experience with formal, developmentally appropriate sexuality education.

Our OWL program partners directly with parents and caregivers to help children build healthy self-esteem, celebrate human diversity, and develop positive attitudes about identity, relationships, safety, and health.

Our curriculum features an inclusive and affirming frame that honors diverse expressions of gender identity, body diversity, skin color, and abilities, encouraging children to view human differences as natural and beautiful.

It incorporates, evidence-based approaches to child sexual abuse prevention based on guidance from Prevent Child Abuse Vermont, framing safety as an adult responsibility while equipping children with body sovereignty tools.

Children explore age-appropriate, positive concepts around bodies, pregnancy, and family structures, celebrating the many ways families come to be.

Designed specifically for five- to seven-year-olds, workshops emphasize active, movement-based learning with songs, picture books, and creative play.

To support families, expanded HomeLinks provide at-home summaries, book and video suggestions, and conversation guides after every session.

Mandatory Parent/Caregiver Meeting 

At least one parent or primary caregiver must attend this orientation prior to the start of student workshops.

All enrolled families receive The Parent Guide to Our Whole Lives (Grades K–1 & 4–6, 2nd Edition) to support teachable moments at home.

To maintain small group sizes and optimal adult-to-child ratios, advance registration is required.
